Today my class wrote recounts about our holiday.
I wrote a recount about the beach.
It was really hard to pick what i should write about.
I made it with A5 paper and it was so fun colouring and drawing the mountains and ocean.

On Friday the 31st of March the senior school went to Orewa beach.
The first thing we did was go to the school hall to eat breakfast. After that we hopped on the bus, I sat near my friends Blane, Diya Sammy, Eva and Zaina. When the bus started moving everybody started singing so loud however some songs they sang were nice and got me hyped and excited for the trip.
When the bus arrived at Orewa beach we went out to sit under the shade to meet the instructors, soon later the instructors came and explained what a surfboard was and how to signal if you are drowning.
After that we got put in groups based on our classes, I am in room 9 and room nines activity was beach games. So we met with Mr Davidson at the beach shore and our first game was tug of war. The first few rounds were girls versus boys and girls kept winning. Soon later it switched to year 5 versus year 6 and I was in yr 5 and we lost because the year 6 people were strong. Our second beach game was volleyball and I picked to play volleyball. The people in my group were very good and kept hitting the ball but we couldn’t finish the game because we had to go do our next session that was surfing.
We met the two instructors from last time and they explained how to lay on the board. To lay on the board you have to lay down on the board and go backwards just so your feet are hanging off the edge. Next thing we had to learn was how to actually surf and stand up, so to do that we have to lay on the board like how I told you last time and put your hands on the board in front of you, lift your arms up with your hands still on the board, put any leg up on that knee then only stand up once you’ve caught the wave stand up with your back leg behind your front leg once you have caught the wave.
After we learnt all of that we were ready to go and surf so we went to the beach shore and went further and the teachers were pushing us, it was so fun. We were going so fast! I saw all of my classmates doing a great job. It was so cool because the waves were pushing me and it was my first time surfing. Later on it was the end of our surfing session and we had to go for lunch.
Finally it’s lunch time so I ate my food with all my friends on one table and we had a blast just talking about how much fun we had surfing. After that we had to go change. I went to have a shower and the water was cold but I didn’t wanna go back without having a rinse. Lastly it was time we went back to school, so we went.
Kia ora, In January me and my mum, my dad, my siblings and I went to Wenderholm the beach It was very fun when we arrived there we got vanilla ice cream. After we finished our Ice cream we hopped in the water with our boogie boards. As we were playing in the water we met two nice girls that wanted to play with us, so I said yes then we played lots of games with them such as holding your breath under water, water fights and more. soon later we went home because it was already 5:00 pm.
